Going around in circles. After running on the Jekyll site for about a year, this project is restarting...
In the past year, whether here or in the lab, there have been no updates for a long time.
Now that the college entrance examination is over, I think it's time to tap the keyboard again, write some words, record or tutorials.
Why switch to Halo#
I heard before that Zeabur provides a plug-and-play Halo Service deployment
And Jekyll's theme plugin support is almost orphan-level (not really, it's just that the theme we used before was updated too slowly and unsatisfactory)
I've been planning for a long time.
I have always been paying attention to the development of Halo, and based on the principle of trying it out, I made a 2.0 configuration, found it okay, and then stayed here.
Although there are some unsatisfactory aspects, such as the crippled Markdown support, not even an image syntax:
hmm...But before version 1.x, it was very good to use, and we need to give them more time to polish 2.0, no matter from which aspect...
Pitfalls#
Zeabur deployment requires setting up preset environment variables in advance, such as HALO_EXTERNAL_URL
and HALO_SECURITY_INITIALIZER_SUPERADMINUSERNAME
And it is often easier to deploy psql and initialize the database in the same project in advance
Refer to the official deployment document: https://docs.zeabur.com/marketplace/halo
Pay-as-you-go billing is great
Other words#
I recently played too much on the Fediverse microblog platform, I want to return to longer, more in-depth content, so on a whim, I decided to rebuild the main site.
Writing is not for profit, just for recording and sharing
The lab will continue to operate as a blog with faster updates for a long time, and will also serve as an experimental ground to test new features...
In the future, I may purchase a cloudflare s3 for image hosting to reduce expenses.
The previous stuff...since Halo does not support importing Markdown files, I will temporarily not move it back.
If friends who have exchanged links before still want to continue exchanging links, feel free to leave a message~
One last thing, I, as a Blogger, am back!
